Tribute to Ben Hogan and to Golf

Posted on February 13th, 2018 by Herb Rubenstein

I wished I had written these words when I was four years old, but Ben Hogan wrote them when I was four years old.  It summarizes my feelings about golf:

Whether my schedule for the following day called for a tournament or merely a trip to the practice tee, the prospect that there was going to be golf it it made me feel privileged and extremely happy, and I couldn’t wait for the sun to come up the next morning so that I could get out on the course again.

Ben Hogan’s final words in his 1957 book, Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf.
