Figuring out golf
Posted on July 2nd, 2018 by Herb Rubenstein
How do you figure out golf? You swing the club and hit the ball. The goal is not to hit the ball. The goal is to control the ball.
So, here are the five aspects of controlling the ball:
Distance
Line (direction)
Spin of ball (that can be sidespin or backspin)
Trajectory (how high the ball flies at each second it is in the air)
Place on the golf club where the club head “hits” the ball.
In a series of future blog posts we will discuss each one of these “aspects.” Control these five elements and you control the ball. Control the ball, and you will be a great golfer.
Using a simulator gives you all of the precise data and feedback you need to know about each of these five elements. Just putting tape on your club, or any spray powder will show you where on the club face you hit the ball.
Collecting this information is essential for you to learn how to create a golf swing that sends the golf ball where you want it to go.
