Tour Championship – Lou Riccio’s Prediction
Posted on September 17th, 2018 by Herb Rubenstein
Here are the Model’s Top Ten picks:
Dustin Johnson
That’s it. He dominates in the Model’s runs no matter what is emphasized: this course, recent play or the last three years of play. Of course the questions surrounding his personal life might interrupt his predicted play. But if the real DJ shows up, it should be his to lose.
After him, Day, Rahm, Rose, McIlroy, Thomas, and Fowler are bunched as contenders. Of course as always, the big question is Tiger. Tiger factors in as a possibility when emphasizing recent play. He should do quite well at East Lake, but I’m just not as confident this week as I was last event when I said he was the favorite. A first round 62 and a 6th place finish just three strokes out of the playoff was a good indication that the Model had tracked his potential pretty well. He should contend this week. Just not sure if it is the right place for his first comeback victory.
Surprisingly the Model doesn’t give this year’s major champs (Reed, Koepka and Molinari) much of a chance. Nor does it have high hopes for the very hot DeChambeau. The Model indicates they are not good bets this week.
